The December 2016 Architectural Showcase is now ON! at KL City Gallery. Don’t miss it.
UCSI Architecture Graduate Students 2016 were given the challenge to analyse the context of the town and to propose a DESIGN INTERVENTION that may be able to improve the liveability of Taiping.
Based on individual OBSERVATIONS and RESEARCH, students were able to develop critical understanding of their propositions in the given site.
In order to develop a DEEPER CONNECTION to the site, students were engaged in urban walks and explorative studies to produce a collaborative mapping of the site.
These exercises enabled the students to formulate their understanding of the relationship and conditions of work and inhabitation and establish the synergy between community, place and urban life and to then propose a “LIVE-WORK” condition within the parameters of the given building and adjacent empty land.
