From Malaysia with Love : November 2014

The Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) with the support of ARCH Kuala Lumpur City Gallery and Arca Lampu Kayu is proud to present the exhibition “From MALAYSIA with LOVE” – in conjunction with Tourism Malaysia’s 1Malaysia Contemporary Art Tourism (1MCAT).

Featuring the colorful and delightful mixed media paintings of Chekri Mansor and Angeloh Guik Choo, two local self taught artists with a keen eye for capturing the peoples and places of Malaysia,
rendered in their own unique and personalized approach, “From Malaysia with LOVE” is a private exhibition highlighting and celebrating traditional values namely love and filial piety, compassion and gratitude.

These values, which are also universal, are what has made this young, independent and modern nation a dynamic, peaceful and blessed country.
The works of these two upcoming Malaysian self taught painters were specifically chosen for this exhibition as the approach adopted and the forms produced from a creative mix of different medium and materials reflects the temperament and personality of both artists, profoundly shaped by their environment,
their relationships with people and their deep appreciation for their homeland, Malaysia.
