“Cheongsam – Timeless Elegance” Exhibition

From 2 October to 30 November, some 30 cheongsam of different styles and eras will be on display at the KL City Gallery,
giving visitors an opportunity to have a glance of the development of the cheongsam and to appreciate its classic beauty.

Entitled “Cheongsam – Timeless Elegance”, the exhibition is organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia (TECO) and KL City Gallery, in order to promote the cultural exchange between Malaysia and Taiwan.
The word “cheongsam” literally means “long dress” in Cantonese.

It is also known as ‘qipao’ in Mandarin. The precious art design of qipao from National museum of Taiwan History is also featured.

The exhibition illustrates the origins of the cheongsam and its relationship with society and culture.
At the recent launch, guest of honour, YM Raja Datin Paduka Fuziah bte Raja Tun Uda officiated the opening together with Deputy representative of TECO, Mr Cheng and ARCH Founder Mr Andrew Lee.
